Chloe joined Meltwater Hong Kong in 2014 and was later transferred to our Beijing office as a Managing Director for the Client Success team in 2017. A few years later, she came back to Hong Kong and continued as a Managing Director for the Key Account Management team in 2019.
Growing up, Chloe's childhood dream was to become a news anchor, however, her aspirations changed as she learnt more about the world. She wanted to become someone who can impact and aspire others.
Throughout her journey, she has worked with over 500 clients within 3 years of joining Meltwater. She also played a major role in the establishment of our Beijing office.
Q. What was your first impression of Meltwater?
I was very surprised after my interview. The recruiters were great at assessing people and they gave me feedback about my performance immediately. After joining, I realized the culture here was really cool too. I even had the chance to participate in our annual meeting in Mexico not long after joining. was shocked during the interview. Our founder,
Jorn Lyseggen, shared a lot about the design of our products and IT trends at the meeting which helped me learn a lot more about Meltwater's development strategies. During that trip, we would spend the day at the workshops then go clubbing till midnight. Regardless of how crazy we got the night before, we would also be concentrated and composed when we came back in the day. It was a "work hard, play hard" situation.
Q. Do you recall any exciting activities or moments during your time at Meltwater?
In 2016, I suggested the idea of opening a new office to my boss. And a year later at the Greater China Summit, my boss told me, "We are opening a new office in Beijing and I want you to own this project and take full responsibility with founding our CS Beijing team." I was in completely shock. Later at dinner, my boss announced this project to everyone and all my colleagues came to congratulate me afterwards. This was truly an unforgettable experience.

Q. As a key personnel in the Client Success team, what are your hopes for your team or the comapnies future?
I want to normalize and popularize Meltwater into a commonplace marketing product, similar to how Microsoft Word is to everyone in writing documents. I want marketing and PR professionals to think of us whenever they want information for market analysis. We are not quite on that
level yet, we for sure need to put more effort into branding. We also need our account managers to see a bigger picture for our clients' business situation and prospects. By providing more tailored and personalized recommendations and insights, I believe our clients will think of us more frequently while doing their work.

Q. Rumor has it you graduated from the Shanghai Theatre Academy, is it true?
Haha, I was joking with the newbies when they joined. I never thought they would believe it. I could've been a good actress then, don't you reckon?
Q. What are your hopes for Meltwater's future in 2018?
Other than continual growth for our business, it would be great if I can work with more intelligent talents. I hope to cultivate more people that could in the future take my place, and potentially someone that could open another new office in China!
